Our Objectives

The objectives of the Irish Sea Centre Limited, as stated in its Memorandum and Articles of Association for incorporation under the Isle of Man Companies Act 2006 are:

“To assist the sustainable use and conservation of the Irish Sea ecosystem”

“To gather and disseminate for the public good information about the Irish Sea and its ecological goods and services”

“For the benefit of scientific advancement and education including providing advice and assistance to resolve challenges and problems which arise from the changing uses and ecology of the marine environment generally and the Irish Sea in particular”

Lecturer in Marine Biology, University of Liverpool Port Erin Marine Laboratory (1968-1979); Founding Secretary/Treasurer (1973) and Council Member (2018-2019), Manx Wildlife Trust/ Principal Scientist, International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM), Manila (1979-2000); Consultant (from 1977) to international clients including, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Tanker Owners’ Pollution Federation (ITOPF); and the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPCF)
